Information You Submit
A name, phone number, or address entered in a search form is sent to the third-party provider that supplies the results. Ridgecrest Residents Directory does not keep a copy of that search on its own servers. A message sent to us contains only the information you choose to include, which is used to answer it.
Routine Technical Logs
Hosting systems may record an IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and time stamps. Those entries are reviewed in aggregate for site health and readership patterns. Basic analytics or advertising measurement may use cookies or similar tools where they are enabled.
How the Data Is Used
The limited information supports operation, troubleshooting, traffic counts, and page improvement. Visitor lists are not sold, and individual reader profiles are not built from these records.
External Portals and Links
Pages point to county and state portals, libraries, archives, and third-party search tools, including the Kern Recorder records page, Kern eCourt, and Ridgecrest public archive. Once a link is followed, that provider’s privacy policy controls what is submitted there. Sponsored search results are supplied by a separate company and have their own rules.
Who Can Receive It
Hosting and technical providers process server logs as needed to support the service. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. Disclosure occurs when valid legal process requires it, and otherwise is limited to operating the reference.
Security and Retention
The site uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the purposes stated above. There are no Ridgecrest Residents Directory accounts, passwords, or user profiles stored here.
Readers Under 18
The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor’s information was sent to us, use the Contact page so it can be reviewed and removed.
Your California Privacy Choices
Depending on eligibility, California’s Consumer Privacy Act provisions in Civil Code §1798.100 et seq. provide rights to know or access, correct, delete, opt out of sale or sharing, and limit certain sensitive-personal-information uses with covered businesses. Ridgecrest Residents Directory keeps very little: a request is checked against the contact mailbox and applicable logs, then handled through the Contact page. Public records held by California state, Kern County, or Ridgecrest offices are outside our control; a correction or removal request for those belongs with the custodian. The California Public Records Act, Government Code §§7920.000–7931.000, governs access to existing public records and does not make this private reference their custodian.
Policy Updates
If this policy changes, the revised text will be posted here. Continued use after publication indicates acceptance of the updated terms.
